Engineering Lead, Square Checking at Square

Ben is an engineering leader passionate about machine learning. During computer science graduate school, he specialized in ML and was a core member of the three person team that created the first superhuman poker AI out of CMU. Since then, he’s led large ML initiatives at Square across customer support, compliance, and more. He currently leads the Square Checking team responsible for many of the core systems backing Square Banking. He’s particularly excited about the possibility for large fintech businesses to capitalize on ML for high throughput systems.
